The surprise as the Gospel Music Association announced the 2012 Dove Award nominations were that Natalie Grant and LeCrae both received nods for two songs in one category. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.
Grant is nominated for “Alive” and “Your Great Name” in the Song of the Year category. LeCrae, who went to high school in Denver, is nominated for “Hallelujah” and “The Overdose” in the Rap/Hip-hop Recorded Song of the Year category. LeCrae is also up for Artist of the Year.
