Venus, Jupiter in conjuction after sunset

Venus and Jupiter will be at their closest — or in conjuction of 3 degrees — Thursday. Look to the Western skies near sunset and up to four hours after sunset.

Venus will be brighter because it is closer to earth. After Thursday they will start to drift apart. But don’t wait till Thursday to view the sky.

Here is a cool illustrated guide to the conjuction from Earth Sky.
