Is bashing Christians newest sport?

Bron­cos quar­ter­back Tim Tebow gives the fans the Mile High Salute after scor­ing the win­ning touch­down in a vic­to­ry over the N.Y. Jets on Thurs­day night.

While dis­cussing Tim Tebow and the Den­ver Bron­cos’ win over the New York Jets on Thurs­day, a friend said that it has become polit­i­cal­ly cor­rect to bash Chris­tians, and that Tebow has made him care about the Bron­cos. He roots for Tebow because of the Chris­t­ian bash­ers — and he’s not a reli­gious zealot.

It got me think­ing he might be right about bash­ing Chris­tians being the newest sport. Would peo­ple bash Tebow if he was a Mus­lim or a Jew? Hmmm, those reli­gious seem to be “off lim­its.”

Born Again Records’ Barnett Williams dies

Bar­nett Williams, the founder of Born Again Records, was remem­bered Fri­day in Cal­i­for­nia in a ser­vice at Sword of the Spir­it.

Williams helped many enter­tain­ers get their careers off the ground, includ­ing Chris­t­ian come­di­an Brod­er­ick E. Rice, James Grear and Com­pa­ny, Mary Floyd, 5 A.M. Praise, Tim “Bish­op” Brown and Sonya Bar­ry.

Williams died Nov. 11. He was 65.

Crabb Family reuniting for tour, CD release

The Crabb Fam­i­ly is reunit­ing for a lim­it­ed tour and will release a CD, “Togeth­er Again,” on Feb. 7.

The South­ern Gospel singing fam­i­ly’s CD will fea­ture new record­ings and a new approach.

“In the past, when it came time to select songs for a project, part of the process was our decid­ing who would be fea­tured on what song,” said Jason in a press release. “Basi­cal­ly, we all had ‘our indi­vid­ual songs’ that we took the lead on. With­To­geth­er Again, the songs aren’t cen­tered around ‘who is singing lead.’ Our vocals are inter­min­gled as nev­er before. I’m espe­cial­ly excit­ed about this, not only for the record, but for this run of con­certs.”

At this point, the “work­ing” tour dates include stops most­ly in the South and Texas.
The Crabb Fam­i­ly has 11 Dove Awards and three Gram­my nom­i­na­tions under its belt.

Mandisa, Matthew West ring in Colorado Christmas

Matthew West returns to Col­orado on Sat­ur­day, Dec. 3 with Man­disa for a Christ­mas con­cert.

The Heart of Christ­mas Tour will stop at Mis­sion Hills Church in Lit­tle­ton. Tick­ets are $25, $35 and $50.

The tour is in sup­port of West­’s Christ­mas CD (Octo­ber 2011) by the same name. The CD fea­tures sev­en new songs writ­ten by West, along with Vince Gill and Amy Grant lend­ing their voic­es to songs. The title track –“The Heart of Christ­mas” — calls the lis­ten­er to ditch the com­mer­cial­ism and focus on the heart of Christ­mas.

The song is also the inspi­ra­tion for the movie “The Heart of Christ­mas” that will debut on the Gospel Music Chan­nel on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. East­ern time.

Jason Crab­b’s new CD “The Song Lives On” is mak­ing noise as it hit No. 1 on Bill­board­’s South­ern Gospel sales chart. It is also No. 10 on the Con­tem­po­rary Chris­t­ian chart and No. 118 on Bill­board­’s top 200.

And the DVD is No. 2 behind Tay­lor Swift on the over­all Bill­board Music DVD chart.

Love his voice and he’s just a gen­uine nice guy.
