This commercial by Focus on the Family first aired during the Broncos game against the Patriots in an AFC divisional game Saturday. Here’s the story behind it.
Focus president and CEO Jim Daly said the ad was in response to millions of people searching the Internet for John 3:16 after Tim Tebow and the Broncos beat the Steelers in overtime during the playoffs. He said it took 2.5 days to make and the children in the ad are children of FOF employees.
Did the ad bother you? Not me after seeing ads for Mormons in recent months. What is your take?
Loved the ad, I thought it was very well done.
loved it also thought it was great, wish there were more like it!
We have not seen this on TV before. The Bible has quite a reputation, with its interpretation being at the center of so many disputes and even wars. Some who wont go near it, and many disagree with the interpretations by Focus on the Family — which has a constitutional right to make such an ad. Perhaps if the many religious factions in the world voiced their opinions openly there would be more understanding. Maybe. after Focus and the Mormons, there could be Buddhism, Islam, liberal then conservative Catholicism (which are almost two different religions). Go for it.
What’s to bother? Well done.
Loved it!! 🙂
As long as the network would also accept an ad for Allah or The Flying Spaghetti Monster, I have no problem with it.
Have you been touched by his noodle‑y appendage?
no
no i love it.
